Graphics looks “bad” in VR games for many people mainly because of that as I see. DiRT Rally 2.0 Gameplay video - movie (hx) 04:35 PM CEST - Oct,01 2018 - Post a comment DiRT Rally 2.0 aims to take you to six rally locations around the world where you can take on incredible hand crafted stages in a wide variety of cars from the history of the sport and modern day. We need to see X*Y per eye as we see X*Y at monitor but not ((X/2)*Y). But with current resolutions of frames per eye ((X/2)*Y) in VR situation with drawing 40-80 game fps to 80-100 Hz of VR headsets is not a critical problem right now I think. 26 October: Problems at Steam 20 October: Problems at Steam 13. If we’ll have less fps than amount of VR’s Hz…we need something similar to G-Sync/Freesync but for VR. So if VR is 80 Hz it would be perfect to change graphics settings for making possible 160 (!) fps to monitor.

May be I'm wrong but to see comfortable graphics in VR you need power PC which can give you doubled fps of frame rate of your VR. That typically means that every draw call is issued twice, every mesh is drawn twice, and every texture is bound twice.” Sometimes googled: “.With VR, every frame must be typically drawn twice, once for each eye. Where are graphics bad at High? The same as with High when playing at monitor. I know that games are much more demanding in VR, but pure VR games often look and run better than Dirt Rally 2. I'm playing with Ultra at 1440p monitor with 75-85 fps and with High I have 140-160 fps, so when playing in VR I choose High and 1440p too, which is good for me. Originally posted by crowbar: It's much harder to notice low fps with Valve Index, because of motion smoothing, but it still hurts the experience. Very rarely do I spin out and wish I had mirrors so I think that's been a good idea for me (can always look behind you in VR anyway). I look at 2D videos of the game and they look fantastic compared to what my game looks like but I've gotten used to how it is so I don't mind.ĭo you have your mirrors on? I didn't find I used mirrors very much at all so I turned those off. I did try optimizing my settings a little but the game looked so bad I turned them up again. I have no idea what my fps is but I'm fairly sure it's not consistently 90, It's just not causing me issues (I do have the odd slow downs that seem to make the game go slow motion for a second which does cause me to crash at times). I'd worry about fps as much as it bothers you, if you aren't noticing the low fps that's probably a good thing. It was an after thought but that doesn't mean it's not optimized, they have improved things slightly it just has to do hell of a lot more work to run in VR than in 2D (It has to do a lot of stuff twice for starters). Doesn't feel like this game is really optimized for VR, more like an afterthought. Without AA I reach 90 fps, but without AA it looks terrible in VR. I changed many settings, Screen Space Reflections Off and such. Originally posted by crowbar:Okay, my framerate actually really sucks.
